A flying start to 2021

A flying start to 2021

The AIMS team has had a busy start to the year. Even though the COVID-19 pandemic has caused many disruptions to international travel there are still those in need of our services to meet their emergency care requirements. We have completed many repatriations ensuring that patients were able to receive the best care possible while travelling in Africa and seeing that patients were safely returned to their home country.

Here are some of the repatriations of medical patients AIMS has handled this year:

Starting the New Year flying

On the first day of 2021 Alliance International Medical Services successfully arranged an air evacuation from Sierra Leone to South Africa. Our team ensured that the patient was admitted to the most appropriate receiving medical facility for this specific case.

Working on the weekend!

Alliance International Medical Services completed two Medevacs over the one weekend. One patient was transported from Luanda, Angola to Windhoek, Namibia and the other from Inhambane, Mozambique to Johannesburg, South Africa.

Sending patients safely home

A fantastic job was done by the AIMS team in successfully repatriating a patient from Uganda to England. The patient thanked AIMS for their support and endeavours during their challenging times in Uganda and contributing to the successful repatriation back to England.

The patient particularly thanked their case handler on an amazing job! Commending her on how helpful and humane she was during the difficulties the patient had encountered.

“The AIMS employee help was so natural and gave the patient a sense of faith and confidence that everything was being handled with the utmost urgency and resources”.

A patient moved from Mozambique to South Africa

AIMS received a heartfelt thank you from a patient who was successfully evacuated by air ambulance from Mozambique to South Africa.  This was a reminder to the AIMS team that the work we do is life changing and we are very fortunate to be in a position to positively impact the lives of our patients.

Sending a patient home to France

The Operations team and our non-medical escort (NME) assisted a French national from East London to Johannesburg and then safely home to France. The AIMS team received thanks from the insurer for a job well done!
