Injured and lifted by air-ambulance while travelling in South Africa

There is nothing more traumatic than being injured while in a foreign country and without your family. This is what happened to one of AIMS’ patients when she was injured while travelling in South Africa. Luckily AIMS was on hand to assist with all her medical care needs and ensure that she received the best quality professional care available.

AIMS is on hand from the moment the air ambulance touches down

A young girl was injured here in South Africa, while she was half a world away from her family. The AIMS team immediately stepped in to provide her with the care she needed until her family arrived. 

The AIMS case manager was on hand from the moment the patient arrived at the hospital via air ambulance. As the case manager he was able to coordinate with the hospitals and doctors to make sure the patients treatment went exactly to plan. 

From the hospital AIMS organized the accommodation for her family and for the patient to stay in once discharged. Once released from hospital the patient was able to return home successfully. 

There are no words, deeds, actions or repayments that I can ever put forth that would come even remotely close to the indebtedness and appreciation I feel to each of you and your organization. We couldn’t have gotten through all of this without all of your help.

The care has been nothing short of outstanding and we feel very special for everything you have done. 

I can’t imagine a more difficult situation to deal with than having a child injured a half a world away from you other than having that happen without the special organization to be right by our sides providing care to her in our absence.  

I can’t fathom how difficult this would have been to handle without the extraordinary steps and measures you have taken to bring comfort to us through this difficult time.  



Earlier today, I met your onsite liaison here in Johannesburg. I understand that not only was he here two days ago upon my daughter’s arrival via air ambulance, but has visited every day since, including this morning when I met him for the first time. He has helped coordinate with our doctors, ensured every detail has been attended to including helping to make arrangements for her hotel stay once discharged and awaiting a safe date that we can begin our travels home. The care has been truly outstanding.
