The AIMS Team: Then and Now 

At AIMS we have had a long journey to get to where we are today. As we head into our third quarter of the year in 2021 we thought we would take some time to reflect on how far we have come as a team. 

Here is a look back at our team from then until now: 

Eric Prinsloo

How long have you worked for AIMS?

I have been with AIMS Since August 2009, that is 12 years.

What is the one thing you have learnt from working at AIMS?

When you are employed by AIMS you are not just a number and you are part of a family.

What advice would you give to a new employee at AIMS?

It is a great company to work for. Your heart needs to be into it, being caring is a plus. AIMS is about teamwork, you will definitely need to pull your weight around here.

Hendrik Jacobs

How long have you worked for AIMS?

It has been 14 years, since February 2008.

What is the one thing you have learnt from working at AIMS?

Working in Case Management you need to be respectful and patient.

What advice would you give to a new employee at AIMS?

To focus and be humble.

Dominic Breton 

How long have you worked for AIMS?

For 12 years, since February of 2009. 

What is the one thing you have learnt from working at AIMS?

I’ve had the opportunity to work in every department at AIMS, and I’ve learned to be a jack of all trades and a master of none, but better to be a master of many, then a master of none.

What advice would you give to a new employee at AIMS?

Working in the Medical Assistance Industry isn’t for everyone, It’s a calling. If you stick it out, then it will be worth it.

Stanley Nkosi

How long have you worked for AIMS?

Since 1 of March 2002, so for the last 19 years.

What is the one thing you have learnt from working at AIMS?

Working in operations for as long as I have and with as many cases as I have, I have learned to respect life.

What advice would you give to a new employee at AIMS?

Hold on even if it gets confusing or you’re not sure what you’re doing. Push yourself to do your best, and you will get there.

How long have you worked for AIMS?

On and off for 11 years, since 18 January 2010.

What is the one thing you have learnt from working at AIMS?

AIMS has taught me to work well under pressure and to cope with the work.,

What advice would you give to a new employee at AIMS?

You will learn something new everyday, this is an ever changing industry.

Mbali Sitholel

How long have you worked for AIMS?

I have been here for 7 years, since 1 June 2014. 

What is the one thing you have learnt from working at AIMS?

To take responsibility.

What advice would you give to a new employee at AIMS?

When it comes to work, learn to work as a team member and not as individual.

Wally Verwey

How long have you worked for AIMS?

I have been here 10 years, since 2011

What is the one thing you have learnt from working at AIMS?

The most important thing is patience and understanding.

What advice would you give to a new employee at AIMS?

Teamwork is essential; if you’re passionate about your job and what you do, you’ll go a long way, so stay motivated and don’t give up.

Leigh-Ann Balsdon

How long have you worked for AIMS?

Since February of 2014, it has been 7 years.

What is the one thing you have learnt from working at AIMS?

I started at AIMS in my early 20’s, so the one thing it has done is teach me how to be a grown up. 

What advice would you give to a new employee at AIMS?

Be true to yourself and be yourself! Teamwork is so important.

Bernadette Breton

How long have you worked for AIMS?

I am the founder of Alliance International Medical Services (AIMS). It opened on the 1st of Jan 2002. It has been 19 years and soon to be 20 years.

What is the one thing you have learnt from working at AIMS?

Do not take anything for granted, because the one thing about running AIMS or a business in general is that you never know what the future holds.

What advice would you give to a new employee at AIMS?

There will be good days and there will be bad days. However the growth and experience you will take away as an individual is unmeasurable.

Thulas Mbokane

How long have you worked for AIMS?

Six years, since 4 May 2015.

What is the one thing you have learnt from working at AIMS?

If you work hard at it you can push to be a good leader in your team.

What advice would you give to a new employee at AIMS?

Just be patient and consistent, if you have any doubts or need help do not be afraid to ask.
